Parts Manager
Full-Time

Menzies Chrysler is a customer-focused, high volume dealership located in Whitby, Ontario. We are looking for an experienced, highly professional, full-time Parts Manager to join our successful team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Forecasts goals and objectives for sales, gross and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.

  • Collaborates with the Fixed Operations Manager to make final decisions on departmental goals and objectives.

  • Assists Parts team in setting goals and objectives and coaches to achieve goals.

  • Responsible to hire, train, motivate, coach and monitor the performance of the Parts employees.

  • Works with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.

  • Develops and directs advertising initiatives and takes advantages of all manufacturers' inventory co-operative advertising.

  • Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts and the public.

  • Ensures that all parts are properly tagged so that the dealership recovers full credits from the factory.

  • Develops and administers an aggressive wholesale parts program to produce profit.

  • Provides technical assistance to Parts department employees.

  • Receives inventory, records and stocks orders as required.

  • Ensures that all parts purchases are properly accounted for prior to payment being made.

  • Working with the accounting department to establish department credit limits for customers and ensure the limits are maintained and current.

  • Reviews and assists in the collection of past-due accounts.

  • Reviews and approves invoices and statements.

  • Finalizes month end reports as required.

  • Responsible for the day to day operational decisions in the Parts department.

  • Responsible for determining the priority of tasks within the scope of the position.

Qualifications

  • Previous parts management experience in a dealership parts department.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a parts advisor, shipping and receiving clerk, or delivery driver.

  • Proficient with the following computer environments: Google Docs, Google Sheets, Internet Explorer and Gmail.

  • Working knowledge of wholesale parts department operations.

  • PBS Experience preferred.

  • Valid Ontario Driver's License and a clean driver's abstract.

  • Completion of high school diploma or vocational equivalent.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Must be able to communicate in verbal and written English.

  • Ability to build a customer focused team environment.

  • Ability to build long-lasting and trusting customer relationships.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills in order to resolve customer issues.

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of pertinent data.
